How to Vault Freestyle

A freestyle exercise is also known as a routine. It is cheorgraphed to music as a series of moves on the horses in various directions. (sample freestyle routine from WEG 2006)

When performing the Freestyle, vaulters take the fundamentals learned int he compulsories and creae exciting freestyle exercises.  Through the exercises vaulters learn to use all areas of the horse. This helps vaulters understand the horse's gaits and improves vaulter's ability to move in harmony with the horse.
